The Project carries out efforts to translate and publish works that relate to New Christian or Swedenborgian thought, and to promote education.

The Project is independent, and is recognized by the state of Maryland and the Internal Revenue Service as a  501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization.

What We Believe

We believe that there is a God – one God – who created the universe, and who sustains it. God is divine love itself, and everything that exists has its origins in that love. Creation is powered by love, and shaped by divine wisdom. We believe that people have spiritual natures that are on a higher level of being than our physical bodies, and that our spiritual nature is capable of receiving good and truth flowing in from God.

God gives us what we need – the capability to make free spiritual decisions using our rational minds. He has provided instruction manuals, too, so our rationality has something to use as a foundation. In Christianity, we have the Bible – the  Divinely inspired books of the Old and New Testaments. We also have the advent of God himself, here on earth, in Bethlehem 2000+ years ago, as Jesus Christ. The New Christian religion also looks to a set of theological works that were published by Emanuel Swedenborg in the 1700’s. These books explain the inner meaning of the Bible, and derive a set of true ideas that help to provide a better understanding of how to live good lives. We believe that those works were a form of divine revelation, too, and that they constitute the basis for a new Christianity.

What We Do

The Swedenborg Project is dedicated to making sure that everyone who wants to has a chance to hear the whole Divine story, accurately presented, and in a way that they can use in their lives. The teachings of the Second Coming of Jesus Christ tell us that spiritual free will is fundamental to human life, but people are not in free will to decide about teachings they have never heard of in a way meaningful to them. Hence this project.
